:wow: Wow, can't believe my eyes ... got a DD on this, thank you so much! :blowkiss:
I'm really happy ... it was worth all the efforts!

THIS IS NO MANIP OR FAKE!

... just to clarify something here,
If you don't like my work(s) it's definitely ok for me, but
it is not if it's just because you think I'm cheating!
I'm able to differentiate the DA categories and
I choose them honestly!

ok, now back to the picture :
it's a studio macro of a already dead fly
sitting inside a kind of hollyhock flower.

photo technique: focus stacking, also known as focus bracketing
made of 31 differently focused single shots.

tutorials and description: [link] & [link]

hardware: Nikon D300s / Nikkor 50mm and
5x (or +5) Marumi Achromat (screw filter)

afterwork with Photoshop

no manip ... no copy & paste !!!
if you can't believe, check the pictures below:

btw, I took these demonstration shots afterwards (a few days later)
unfortunatelly at this time there was no flower
with those nice pink things on top of it's pistil including. (male or female ?)
if I will see one o9f them again I'll capture and post it.

description and progress:

several days ago and on my way home I found a plant with very interessting flowers.

to me the beautiful calyces simply screamed for beeing a 'macro model',
even when I saw them just in the darkness of the night, faintly illuminated
by a street light only. so I took 3 of them with me for a shooting.
finally at home I had a clother look to them and saw that only one of them
had a very nice pink tuft on the top of it's pistil,
... so, that was "my model" no doubt!

while preparing the shooting in my lightbox (see captures above)
I remembered of a fly which was still sitting in exacly the same position,
not moving behind a transparent bezel of one of my windows, for about a month now.
after checking it I've seen it already was dead, needless to say!
so, the idea of my first focus stacking was born! ;)

good luck for your own ideas and macros!
